Service Description

Just about an hour by bus from the center of Kristiansand is Lindesnes, where you can explore the southernmost part of Norway while viewing the oldest lighthouse in the country, dating as far back as 1656. This tour starts out in Kristiansand, where you will board a bus along with your guide and start the journey toward Lindesnes. On the way we will drive through beautiful local landscapes, and your guide will point out a few sites along the way as well as tell you a bit about the lighthouse. Once we get to Lindesnes everyone is encouraged to walk around the area at their own pace. There are several exhibitions as well as a movie about the history of the area in and around the museum. Tickets will be provided by your guide before you leave the bus to explore. As well as the lighthouse itself there are a few traditional wooden houses, one of them being the main residence of the current Lighthouse Keeper. Once you have explored the area outside head towards the museum and the different exhibitions, there is also a cafe and a souvenir shop here, if you wish to purchase some tokens to remember the trip by. We will meet back at the bus half an hour before departure, where your guide will have a snack and coffee/tea waiting for you. Lindesnes is like we said before the southernmost tip of Norway, the rough landscape and weather exposed location has been an important one for generations, and there are still people living and working at the lighthouse. Today people mostly come here for tourism, and it is a popular photo location for travelers passing through the region wanting to experience the views and closeness to the powerful North Sea that this area provides.
